About Me

Hi! I’m Erin, otherwise known as the Read-at-Home Mama! It’s nice to meet you! I’m a big fan of books (obviously!), cooking, and dancing, when I’m not preoccupied with chasing after my preschooler. I have a friendly relationship with my credit cards and with chocolate — if you give me a Hershey’s Special Dark bar or a Reese’s peanut butter cup, I will love you FOREVER. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a ballerina and an author; when I didn’t find myself on Broadway or on the New York Times bestseller list, I got a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. After a brief teaching stint, I discovered I was pregnant and Zofran became my best friend (and I will always feel that whoever came up with the name “morning sickness” needs to be shot). Fast-forward nine months and my world was completely overtaken by my beautiful, sweet, and perpetually crazy little boy. These days, I’m going through graduate school a second time, this time to earn a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (School Media Specialist track) through Rutgers University. I’m also learning how to deal with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which I was diagnosed with in 2014.

While reading my blog entries, you’ll probably learn more than you ever wanted to know about me and my family. Though I try to keep things primarily bookish, I do occasionally publish family, health, and food-related pieces. I try to represent a little of everything I love here, and I hope you’ll enjoy your visit. Welcome to my blog!
