For last week’s Talking Fitness Thursday post, I wrote about how I had decided to cut my hair to complement the fact that I’ve been successfully losing some weight. I figured that if I felt good on the inside, I should feel good outside too, and one of the easiest ways to make that happen was to change my hairstyle.
Today was the day and let me tell you, I feel lighter than air — and I look good!
So before I show you the “after” picture, let’s quickly review what my hair looked like when I walked into the salon:
And what I wanted it to look like:

And to give you an idea of how good I was feeling this morning, this is what I saw when I stepped on the scale this morning (down from 144-point-something when I started my “f*ck PCOS” fitness journey back in March). As you might have guessed, I was in a really good mood after seeing this…and then I cut my toenails so my feet look less weird, ha!
Ready for the reveal?!?
Here we go…
I LOVE IT!! It feels great on my head and looks good with my face, and I feel happier when I see it. The cut did exactly what I was hoping it would do for me mentally and emotionally, and I’m so pleased with it…even though I was admittedly a little nervous when my stylist started cutting away! (Many, many, MANY thanks to the lovely Jamie at Terra Salon for being as excited as I was and helping me to go for it!) Here’s a few shots of the back and sides so you can see exactly how much I cut off.
I was right about how good it can feel to look good, and I think I look awesome! It’s a big change but it was also way overdue, and I’m crazy about it! My next goal is to further reduce the number on the scale, and knowing that I like my outer appearance is definitely good motivation. It’s time to match the inside and the outside!
Question for you now! What have you done to feel good about yourself today? Talk to me in the comments!
