Joshua’s Bookshelf!: Royal Tots: Love, by Joanly Couillard (and Giveaway!!)

[This review is based on the paperback edition published by Tate Publishing in 2013.]

So what’s it about?
Royal Tots: Love is a short, faith-based story about the importance of feeling and expressing love for others. It’s told in rhyming couplets; Princess Eve serves as the main character here. (The other Royal Tots will have stories of their own at later dates.)

What did we think of the book?
Joshua enjoyed pointing out the many different digitally-rendered Royal Tots, counting and describing them. He also learned what a crown was (and now I think he may want one of his own; looks like we may need to pay a visit to Burger King in the near future). I appreciated the simple language and the equally simple message: love everyone, love them well, and be sure to tell them that you love them, regardless of your differences. It’s just the kind of message the world could use right now!

Would we add it to Joshua’s bookshelf?
Royal Tots: Love has earned its permanent spot on Joshua’s bookshelf! We’ll be keeping it forever!

  • Mary

The one thing Jesus told his disciples at The Last Supper was to love others as He has loved them. He pointed that out, above all else that He taught them, He wanted His last words to be about love. Love can conquer so much!

Now if only everyone could get along, or at least coexist….so many of the world’s problems could become things of the past!

  • Sounds like a great book! I found you through Mom it Forward, glad to meet another Christian mommy!

Hi Lauren, nice to meet you! Full disclosure: Hubs and I were both raised Catholic but we’re not particularly religious these days. We are faithful, but we aren’t churchgoers. Good luck in the giveaway! 🙂

  • Looks like a beautiful story. Thank you for the recommendation.
