Knowing that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was approaching, I’ve been giving a great deal of thought to his famous phrase, “I have a dream.” I have many dreams, for myself and my family as well as for humankind as a whole, and I would like to use today’s post to share them. (My usual book review will go up tomorrow in keeping with the importance of today.)
I have a dream.
I have a dream that, one day, the heart of every being on Earth will be at peace, and that the word “violence” becomes foreign in all tongues.
I have a dream that everyone, regardless of their color, sexuality, or religion, will be accepted with open arms.
I have a dream that financial struggle will become a thing of the past, and that a comfortable life will someday be possible for all people.
I have a dream that my children will feel hatred toward no one.
I have a dream that my husband and I will remain happily married until we die.
I have a dream that my appetite for reading will never be sated.
I have a dream that my home will be filled with love, happiness, and the scent of homemade goods at all times.
I have a dream today!
Those are my dreams. What are yours?
