You better watch out, you better not cry! You better not pout, I’m telling you why…
I was sick yesterday and didn’t get around to Christmas decorating, so I’m hoping to do it sometime this week. All the Christmas music is certainly helping me get into the spirit, and so are these great Cyber Monday deals from my affiliates! We’ve already heard from Melissa & Doug, The Honest Company, and Barnes and Noble, which means there’s only one affiliate left!
Now, as many of you already know, Joshua is a HUGE fan of PBS cartoons. Over the summer, I noticed the ads for ABCMouse that aired ahead of Curious George episodes, and I was intrigued. I visited the website and did some research, thinking that Joshua would be too young for the site. (The only reason I looked in the first place was because of how interested he was in our computers and how they worked.) As it turns out, ABCMouse provides a “Toddler Time” area for the youngest learners, like Joshua, to pick up very basic skills in a fun and interactive way. The pathway through ABCMouse looks like this:
These sections, of course, are a general guideline. If your child blows through Preschool Levels 1 and 2 before their fourth birthday, there’s no reason why they can’t move up to Pre-K Level 3. This program is very much an “at your own pace” deal; you can visit the site and do lessons as often as you like. That’s why I love it so much — I don’t feel obliged to park Joshua in front of the computer every day, but he absolutely loves the site and is both strengthening his existing knowledge and building new skills from using it. For that reason alone, I recommend you at least give it a shot with your little ones!
Of course, I understand the trepidation you might feel at enrolling your child in a paid online preschool program, and that’s where ABCMouse’s deal comes in. Give your child the gift of knowledge — and give yourself the gift of not having to empty your wallet without knowing for sure if your family loves it! Try it FREE for 30 days and, if by New Year’s you decide that ABCMouse is a good fit for your child, then go ahead and purchase a membership! To make the deal even sweeter, you can add up to 3 children for the price of one! (The regular price is $7.95 a month, or $79 for a full year. Of course, they do promotions once in a while and you will be able to get a lower subscription price. Joshua received a subscription jointly from his grandparents for $60 in September!)
